Shane Philips is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter who grew up in a family of singers along the Grand River in Fergus, Ontario. He began singing in church choirs before studying classical Italian opera under Edward Johnson, building a strong technical foundation. His original music has been featured in film and television, including the Lifetime Network, and he has written for organizations such as the Toronto District School Board. Shane has performed across North America and Europe in musical tributes like We Love Harry Belafonte, Sweet Soul Music, and Memories of the Rat Pack, portraying Sammy Davis Jr. He gained national recognition on The Voice and, after a U.S. tour that culminated at the San Francisco Folk Festival, shared the stage with his musical hero Stevie Wonder in Toronto. A passionate advocate for social change, Shane later formed the nonprofit Band of People and released his debut folk album, Social Justice and Peace, reflecting his commitment to music as a force for unity and hope.
